Psalm 150

Here is my first installment of poems inspired by Psalms, I hope you enjoy it. (you can read the actual Psalm here)

Simple praise to you we’ll bring
For we have heart the psalmist sing:
Let everything that has breath
Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!

So we will wait at the door
Angelic hosts standing before,
We’ll spy your throne, with glory bright
And with one voice sing at the sight
We’ll praise you in your sanctuary
As you have caused our eyes to see.

We’ll praise you too for mighty deeds
The glorious truths spelled in the creeds.
Your hand can split the waters apart
And soften even the hardest heart,
The seas obey your sovereign voice
Our glad response is to rejoice!

Indeed with sound and song we’ll raise
A chorus of united praise,
Musicians will their talents bring
To glorify the risen king,
The poet’s hand will join the throng
And write the joyful worship song.

Times roll on and cultures change
But the words ring true in any age:
Let everything that has breath
Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!
